Aim:
The intent of the course is to give knowledge of and insight into the purpose of analysing and understanding leadership in an organisational context. The knowledge will also prepare for work with in an organisational and as a leader of project and department. Special emhasis is given to understand different perpectives on leadership and organisations.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
At least two years of academic studies.

Lectures and seminars.

Course contents:
The course has its roots in organisational theory and will through lectures and case studies introduce the students to the phenomena of leadership. A special relationship between the leader and the follower (the led), power and authority and also how the performance of a leader, the group processes and participating might be designed. Concepts of leadership will be threatened through theories and models from leadership research. The relation between style and behaviour of leadership will be discussed.
Seminars: 6 different seminars, in groups of maximum 30 students, will help to develop a deeper understanding of leadership. Through the seminars a paper have to be prepared and discussed in the final seminar.
