Aim:
The aim of the course is to give a foundation in chemistry and a preparation for further university studies in natural science.
To achieve those goals the student should have the following knowledge and capacities:
- Foundations of atomic structure and valence electrons.
- The occurrence and circulation of elements with emphasis on environment
- The chemical bond within and between molecules.
- Chemical equations and Stoichiometry
- Chemical energetics and the rates of reactions.
- Acids and bases.
- Redox reactions and electrochemistry.
- Elementary organic chemistry and functional groups.
