| Aim: The course aims at giving students basic knowledge in how to use personal computers as a tool. This knowledge is neccessary for the further studies. The course furthermore stresses the importance of security aspects and own responsibility. |

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding. |

| Organisation: The course consists of laboratory work and a test. It is not neccessary to complete all laboratory assignments. |

| Course contents: General about computers, operating systems, internet, informationsseeking and the services at LiTH. Usage of wordprocessing, spreadsheet, electronic mail and internet-browsers. |
