Aim:
The course is intended to give insight into the demands made by various communication situations, to improve oral and written presentation, and illustrate various aspects of linguistic theory.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
The compulsory parts of Practical Swedish/Communication which are in the courses given earlier in the programme.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course consists of a series of lectures (24 hours), and two series of seminars, written and oral presentation (10 and 20 hours respectively). The course is given twice a year, in Period 1, and in Period 3.

Course contents:
Examples of subjects in the lecture series: - Rhetoric - Argumentation - Layout - Intercultural Communication - Body Language - Written Presentation: Different kinds of text (memoranda, arguing texts, reports, job applications and CVs). Oral presentation: Various types of presentation (both prepared and unprepared).
