Aim:
Beginning engineers should be able to Conceive - Design - Implement - Operate complex value-added engineering products and systems in modern team-based environments. They should be able to participate in engineering processes, contribute to the development of engineering products, and do so while working in engineering organizations. This is the essence of the engineering profession.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TSDT06 Signal theory or similar and anatomy & physiologi equivalent to TBME01 Biomedical engineering or TBME02 Anatomy and physiology. TBMT01 Biomedical signal processing, TBMT36 Biomedical optics or other project specific courses.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Project course according to "Concieve Design Interact Operate (CDIO)" and performed through "lätt interaktiv styrmodell (LIPS)". Organised in two parts: theory 1 credit point and project work 5 credit point. The course is scheduled over the entire spring semester. Minimum group size is 4 students but ordinarily 5-8. A tutor and resources(hardware, software and staff) is allocated at beginning of the project.

Course contents:
Biomedical engineering project chosen from a database list (catalogue, IMT).

Course literature:
Compendium IMT, 2005. Webbased literature database (project specific). Compendium "LIPS" (Bokakademien).

If the amount of exchange students are numerous the education is performed in English. If not, exchange students will be tutored individually in English. Grades are given as �?~Fail�?T or �?~Pass�?T.
