Aim:
To educate the student in the processes and requirements of game design through development of their own game.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
3rd year computer graphics and programming.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course will be presented through a series of lectures and workshops.

Course contents:
The course will focus on the requirements of modern games, films and VR environments to include coherent concepts of storyline and narrative flow in order to function convincingly for the audience, be they player, watcher or user. The specific topic areas which will be covered include:
- Narrative
- Game Design
- Interactive storytelling
- Game and Interaction design
- Project management and production managementÃ,
- Industry case studies
- Research directions
