Aim:
The aim of this project course is to give the participants in-depth practical understanding and experience of a progressive view of quality as regards product, process and business development in Swedish industry. By applying previous knowledge in a structured and methodical way the project work will form part of a continuous improvement and development effort and thus aim at helping the organization at which the project is carried out. The participants are also expected to acquire knowledge of how development projects are carried out and what methodologies are suitable.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
The following courses within the research area of Quality and Human-Systems Engineering are recommended: Quality Management & Process Development (TMQU25), Humans, Technology, Organization (TMIA20), Ergonomic Design (TMIA30) and Customer focused product development (TMQU43).

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The project is carried out in close cooperation with industry and extends over three study periods. The work is carried out in groups of 2-3 people and involves a number of whole-day visits to a company. The work concludes with the presentation of a written report. At an early stage contact is established with a number of companies to make it possible to carry through the project course. For this reason we can only guarantee a place in the course for those students who have made their selection in the spring before the start of the course.
