Aim:
The course aims at describing pressures and flows in the circulatory, respiratory, digestive and endocrine systems. Techniques used for measuring such flows and pressures.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Anatomy and Physiology

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course comprises lectures and demonstrations (50h) and laboratory work (16h).

Course contents:
Circulation: Hemodynamics, measurements and clinical applications, fluid mechanics in the circulatory system, models of the circulatory system.
Respiration: respiration physiology, respiratory disease and measurements.
Digestion: gastric disease, esophagus physiology and diagnosis. Measurement techniques.
Endocrines: Models and measurements.
