Aim:
The course aim is to provide a basic knowledge of physics, adapted for continued university studies within the areas of technology and natural science. The course provides qualifications equivalent of "Fysik A".
After the course, the student should be able to:
solve problems by choosing a method and making calcuations, and qualitatively explain phenomena in the areas:
- mechanics
- heat
- electricity
- optics
perform measurements and analyze the results in these areas.

Organisation:
Teaching consists of lectures, problem solving and laboratory work.

Course contents:
- Mechanics: force, torque, equilibrium, pressure, linear motion, energy, mass, work, power, Newton's laws of motion.
- Heat, temperature, phase transitions
- Electricity: charge, current, voltage, resistance, electrical circuits, electrical power.
- Optics: refraction and reflection.
