| Aim: The objective of the course is comprehension of life cycle assessment (LCA) and ecodesign. With the aid of an LCA, a products impact on the environment can be analysed. The student will get understanding of the potential possibilities and limitations of an LCA through both theoretical and practical work. Environmental adaption of products via carefull choises of manufacturing processes, materials and well thought out designs is the main goal of the course. |

| Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered) Environmental Science and Environmental Technology wished but not compulsory. | Organisation: The course includes lectures, laboratory work and assignments. |

| Course contents: Construction of an LCA structure. Methods for collection and handling of data and assessment of the results in an LCA. LCA as a tool. EPS (Environmental Protection System). Tools and procedures to accomplish environmentally designed products. The designers part in environmental adaption of products. |
