Aim:
After this course you will understand the basics of object-oriented programming. You will be able to write programs in the most important parts of the language C++.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Elementary knowledge about computers, and some experience of IDA's SUN-system. You will also need some familiarity with the Pascal language or some other imperative programming language.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
This course is organized as a series of lectures and lessons. It also contains a number of exercises, to be solved with the help of the computer. Some assistance will be available when doing these exercises. Most of the course content will be covered in the lectures and in the exercises, but it is also necessary to use your own time to read the course literature, and to work with the course material and the computer.
