Aim:
This course is intended to meet industry's requirements for engineers with knowledge in the quality field. After completing the course the student will be able to use the most common tools and methods of quality engineering and will have acquired a progressive view of the quality field. After the completed course the student shall:
- show knowledge about the fundamental values and principles of Total Quality Management
- explain how to work with Total Quality Management in organisations
- describe situations where quality methods can contribute to quality improvements in relation to process and product development
- use statistical process control, design of experiments, process mapping and reliability methods to solve basic problems
- have fundamental understanding about how collected information on quality improvements can be validated

Teaching consists of lectures, lessons and obligatory computer exercises.

Strategies within TQM, Customer focused product development, Reliability, Design of experiments, Robust design, Statistical process control, Capability, Process management, Management tools, Quality standards (GLP; Good Laboratory Practice).
