Aim:
The course shall give understanding of the problem of extracting the essential informations from signals of various types. The course shall also give knowledge about methods and algorithms for solving this problem, with applications in, for example, communication, supervision, navigation etc.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TSIT 64 or 66, TSDT 69, 70 or 71.

Organisation:
The course is organized in lectures/classes and laboratory work.
|

Course contents:
Transforms of signals and systems, in particular the discrete Fourier transform.
Spectral analysis.
Filter design.
Modelling of signals.
Filter design using statistical theory, Wiener and Kalman filters.
Methods and applications in adaptive filtering, for example noise cancelling.
