Aim:
The aim of the course is to introduce the foreign students to Swedish business, Sweden's industrial traditions and industrial structure as well as the present situation with regards to general economy and the different sectors of business and industry. Particular attention will be given to aspects that distinguish Sweden from the major European countries.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)

Organisation:
The course is built upon a series of lectures and an in-depth study of a Swedish company. The course is scheduled during the entire autumn semester.

Course contents:
INDUSTRIAL STRUCTURES: Traditions, historical developments and present situation. THE SWEDISH ECONOMY: Growth, labour markets and inflation. Socialists and capitalists. INDUSTRIAL SECTORS: Traditional Swedish industries, small business, industry and finance. SWEDISH MANAGEMENT

Course literature:
Compendium, lecture notes and reports written by the participating students.

One case report and oral examination
