To provide a systematic description about methods and tools for digital image processing.

TSDT25 Signals and systems (D program), or TSDT78 Signals and systems (I,Ii,Y program).

Organisation:
The course consists of lectures, classroom lectures and computer exercises.
|

Course contents:
Orientation about optics and microscopy. Cameras and camera calibration. Shading correction. Range cameras. Short repetition about 2D signal processing basics: 2D fourier transform and sampling, convolution kernels. Histogram and thresholding. Binary image processing. Image restoration with wiener filter. Matched filters and pattern recognition. Non-linear filters. 3D signal processing: 3D-volumes and optical flow. Edge and line detection.
Computer exercices: 1) Binary image procession 2) Optical character recognition 3) Automatic counting of blod cells 4) Image restoration. Hough transform. Non-linear filters. 5) Network camera and range camera. 6) Optical flow. Improvement of finger prints.
