Valid for year : 2005

TMHP51 Hydraulic Servo Systems, 6 ECTS credits.
/Hydrauliska servosystem/

For:   M

Prel. scheduled hours: 56
Rec. self-study hours: 104

  Area of Education: Technlogy

Subject area: Mechanical Engineering

  Advancement level (A-D): D

Aim:
The purpose of the course is to provide broad, in-depth knowledge of hydraulic servo systems. The approach discusses both the mobile and the industrial sectors, as well as automatization technology. The course provides the basis for dimensioning and design of the servo system. Simulation programs are used as a modern analysis tools.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TMHP 20 Fluid power systems, TSRT 15 Automatic Control M.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Teaching is in the form of lectures, classes and laboratory exercises.

Course contents:
Introductory theory: Columnar flow, Orifices, disturbance forces on valve elements cavitation. The physical and chemical properties of hydraulic fluids. Simulation technology: Simulation of the dynamic properties of fluid systems. Proportional and servo-valves - design and properties of different types of pilot stages and power stages. Servo systems for control of position, velocity and force. Loads with several degrees of freedom. Principles of automatic control and dynamic properties.
