Aim:
The course is intended to give insight into the demands made by various communication situations, to improve oral and written presentation, and illustrate various aspects of linguistic theory.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
The compulsory parts of Practical Swedish/Communication which are in the courses given earlier in the programme.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course consists of a series of lectures, and two series of seminars, written and oral presentation. The course is given twice a year.

Course contents:
Examples of subjects in the lecture series: - Rhetoric - Argumentation - Layout - Body Language - Written Presentation: Different kinds of text (arguing texts, job applications and CVs). Oral presentation: Various types of presentation (both prepared and unprepared).

Successful completion of oral assignments.
Successful completion of written assignments.

Compulsory attendance (at least 75%) at lectures and seminars. Grades are given as ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’.
