Aim:
The purpose of the course is to provide the student with basic knowledge of how to model and analyze the motion of an airplane, particularly with regard to stability characteristics.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Calulus, Algebra, Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Automatic Control.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Supplementary courses:
Courses in aircraft design and mechatronics

Organisation:
The course is given as a series of lectures and computer sessions.

Course contents:
Aerodynamic forces, static stability, three dimensional rigid body dynamics, equations of motion of an airplane and their linearization, longitudinal and laterial modes, dynamic stability, gyros, control systems.
