| Aim: The course aims to give basic knowledge within pharmacology. |

| Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered) Accepted to the educational program of chemistry with participation of NKEC52 Biochemistry, 10p Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding. |

| Organisation: The course theory exist of lectures as well as pharmacological problems according the basics for problem based learning. Laboratory projects include in vitro experiments as well as computer simulations |

| Course contents: Theory: General pharmacology, receptor theory and respiratory and pharmacokinetics, pharmacology of the nervous system, cardiovascular pharmacology as well as anti-microbial and analgetic drugs. Laboratory projects include receptorcharacterization and receptorradioligand binding, pharmacology of the blood, bloodpressure control. Relevant parts of physiology and cellbiology are integrated in educational moments. |
