Aim:
To provide the students with the opportunity to obtain deeper knowledge within the fild of images and computers, by working in an applied project. To provide a deeper understanding of practical problems and restictions related to the methods which have been presented in previous courses in the area, and how these methods can be appplied to solve concrete problems.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Courses within the program profiles DAG (D-program) or SBB (Y-program).

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course has a catalogue with projects provided by the different research groups within the field. Each project has a certain size in terms of students which can carry out the project. During an inital semiar, the students form groups around the projects selected from the catalogue. Each project is presented both in the form of a report and an oral presentation. In order to carry out a certain project, the student must have obtained suitable background knowledge from other courses in the area.

Course contents:
Reserach and application related projects within the field of image analysis, computer vision, computer graphics, image coding, and neural networks.

Course literature:
Specific for each project.

Examination:
One report and one oral presentation for each project group. Each group is given the grade pass/failed.

The only grade given in the course is pass/failed. No ECTS grades are given except pass/failed. The is a CDIO-version of the course for students at the Y-program which are required to take one project course druring their 4th year: TSBB51.
