| Aim: After the course is completed each student should * be able to describe the theory presented in the course litterature * be able to follow instructions from a lab-manual and have knowledge how to perform a dissection, a physiologylab and have basic knowledge in how to use a microscope * be able to construct questions and answers of their own using the course litterature and to discuss these at seminars |

| Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered) The first semester of the foundation year. Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding. |

| Organisation: Lectures, laboratory exercises and seminars. |

| Course contents: Morpology and basic funktion of pro- and eucaryota cells and cell metabolism, virus and physiology and organs; nervous system, sensory physiology, muscle, glands and hormones, digestion, blood, circulation, respiration, excretion and the immune-system. |
