| Aim: After completion of courses Botany 1 and Botany 2 the student have acquired an over all view of structure and function in plants by studies of the structure, systematics, plant evolution and physiology of plants. The courses deals with the classical botanical disciplines. |

| Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered) General Chemistry ,20 points and Biology, 20 points (Cell Biology, Genetics, and Microbiology), or equivalent. Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding. |

| Course contents: This course includes a survey of the most important groups of algae and the Kingdom Fungi. Photosynthesis, growth and development are dealt with. This course includes applied botany in fields such as agriculture, forestry, and gardening. |
