Aim:
The aim of the course is to give a basic understanding of the logistics activities within the firm, between firms and in the entire supply chain. We will look at a companyâ?Ts logistics system, focusing on creating cost-effective material flows by using cost trade-offs with a systems analysis approach. Furthermore, we will see how companies can interact in supply chains, in order to improve the overall logistic effectiveness in the chain as a whole. We will pay special attention to the dynamic effects that occur along the chain when something is changed in one end of it. After taking this course, the student should be able to describe and understand the important processes and flows of materials and information in the supply chain.
