Aim:
After taking the course the student should know how to find information from different sources, what forms there normally are for the information and what structures the sources can be expected to have. The student should also be able to present information as a short written report

Course contents:
The process of seeking information (search - examine - select)
Different sources for information such as real and virtual libraries. Critical examination of web resources and comparisons to library recources.
Three levels of one concept: Information source, database, and sets and relations.
The connection between seaching for information, query languages, realational algebra and logics.
Computer use: word processing, communications, search for knowledge.
