Supplementary courses:
TFKE25 Biochemistry
Organisation:
The theoretical part consists mainly of lectures. The lessons include problem solving towards reaction mechanisms. The experimental part consists of organic reactions and synthesis correlated to the theory.
Course contents:
Functional groups, nomenclature and stereochemistry. Chemical reactions such as substitution, elimination, addition, oxidation and reduction. The study of these reactions include reaction mechanisms, reactive intermediates, energy profiles and kinetics. Spectroscopic methods for structure determination (IR and NMR).
