Aim:
The purpose of the course is to
" Give a basic knowledge about applications and user services in the field of intelligent transport systems.
" Give insights on how information technology and telecommunication can help satisfying goals in terms of efficiency, safety and environmental impact.
" Exemplify how intelligent transport systems have an impact on travellers, companies and the society
" Practice and develop oral and written communication skills
" Give a survey of philosophy of science

Lectures, seminars and project assignments.

Course contents:
The lectures covers various application areas of intelligent transport systems such as systems for traveller information, traffic management, incident management, electronic payment and toll collection., advanced driver assistance and collision avoidance., freight and commercial vehicle operations. Oral and communication skills: the student is to write a research paper, give a presentation of a research paper and act as an opponent .
