Aim:
The course aims to give knowledge about the environmental effects and the use of different materials, for example plastics and metals. The course also aims to increase the knowledge about the flow of materials in the technosphere, recycling, waste management and how the exploitation of the natural resources can become sustainable. You will also learn how to write a scientific paper by doing an assignment.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Chemistry 3,5 p from engineering studies, Environmental Science and Environmental Technology desirable but not compulsory.

Course contents:
The course deals with the environmental effects from different materials, especially metals, plastics and surface treatments from a recycling perspective. An important component is the study visits that illustrate the different parts of the course.
