Aim:
The aim of the course is to give fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of volumetric analysis and electroanalytical chemistry.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
NKEA26 General Chemistry, NKEA27 Organic Chemistry 1 and NKEB23 Inorganic Chemistry A (or equivalent courses).

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course consists of lectures, lessons, laborations and short written tests.

Course contents:
Quantitative analysis based on precipitation, acid-base, complexometric and redox titrations. Fundamentals of electrochemistry. Electroanalytical chemistry: electrodes and potentiometry. Potentiometric titration. Experimental error and elementary statistics.
