Aim:
The course shall provide knowledge about production of organic electronics components. Special emphasis is placed on large area flexible electronics such as paper electronics.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TNE041 Modern Physics, TNE081 Semiconductor Technology and TNE028 Organic Electronics, or equivalent courses.

Organisation:
The course contains lectures and laboratory work.

Course contents:
Solubility, wetting and rheology of electronic ink (polymer solutions). Film formations: solution-based, electrochemical, vacuum sublimation. Basic print- and patterning technology: ink-jet, screen, flexo and off-set printing; soft lithography; self-organization. Metal contacting, organic multilayers. General limitations and requirements for organic electronics in terms of clean room and vacuum processing. Electronic paper: materials, components, specific production requirements and process steps.
