Aim:
The student will learn and understand how Ecodesign of a product or a service can be performed trough choice of material, manufacturing and design. A system-oriented view will be emphasized especially concerning product related energy- and materials flow. Tools for Ecodesign and Life Cycle Assessment will be presented and used in practical laborations.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Environmental Science or equal.

Organisation:
The course includes lectures, laboratory work and assignments.
|

Course contents:
System oriented perspective of Environmental Impact analysis. Introduction to Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), data sampling, handling and assessment in a LCA. Methods, Tools and Procedures for Environmental Sound product development and design.
Environmental evaluation of elements and organic compounds. Recycling and waste treatment will be handled.
