Aim:
This course aims to give deeper knowledge about the interactions between humans, technology and organization. It is suitable for students who wish to improve their knowledge of design of technical systems and organizations that enable users and co-workers to achieve productivity and quality work. Important aspects are the design of different production systems and organizations, such as human-machine systems, complex systems and joint systems. Also, the physical and psychosocial working environment, work organization and leadership are dealt with, and in addition also methods for improvement of production systems and how these factors influence quality, productivity, safety and health.

The course consists of lectures, class interactions, laboratory exercises and a project work

Course contents:
The course deals with factors that deal with humans at work in the existing context - in the group, in the organization and in relation to different activities. The following themes are included:

Human characteristics and needs from a physiological, psychological and cognitive point of view
Human - machine interaction
Interactions between Technology - Organization and Humans - Organization
Environmental influences on the interactions
Complex and joint systems
