Aim:
To provide basic knowledge in animal physiology, systematics and morphology.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Accepted to the educational program of biology with participation of Chemistry 1, 20p (or equivalent).
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Lectures, laboratory course and seminars.

Course contents:
The course intend to provide a basic knowledge within the field of systematical, morphological, physiological and evolutionary zoology. This will include functional anatomy, physiology and histology of representative animal groups. In addition, the course will include basic embryology and developmental biology. Experimental physiology including the use of live animals (approved by the ethical committe for the use of live animals) can be included.
