Aim:
To give deep knowledge on the advanced Internet protocols, internetworking technologies, protocol design and the most recent development in this area, and to have competence in designing, analyzing and developing Internet protocols and architectures, both practically and analytically.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Basic knowledge in Computer Networks or Telecommunication.

Advanced Internetworking concept and architectural model, Details of Internet protocols (IP, ARP, RARP, ICMP, IGMP, UDP, TCP, T/TCP), Recent development of routing algorithms and routing protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF), Multicasting, Autoconfiguration (BOOTP, DHCP), Private Network (NAT, VPN), IP Security (IPSec, Firewalls, AAA/Diameter/Radius), IP Mobility (Mobile-IPv4, v6), Domain Name Systems (DNS, Dynamic DNS), Internet Management (SNMPv1-3), Internet Applications (SMTP, MIME, WWW, HTTP, NFS), Future of TCP/IP network (IPv6, QoS issues in IP networks, Voice over IP, RTP, Softswitch/SIP/H323, Ad Hoc networking, etc.)
