Aim:
The course shall give basic practical knowledge about the program Matlab, which is used for computation and visualisation. The course can be seen as a preparation for a large number of courses where Matlab is used, but also as a way to learn how to use Matlab to engineering work.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Linear algebra.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course consists of lectures and computer exercises.

Course contents:
Interactive computations. Programming. Graphics. Examples of applications.

Course literature:
Course reader. Recommended literature: F. Gustafsson och N. Bergman: Matlab for Engineers Explained. Springer 2003.
