| Aim: The course aims to give the student an insight to the fast developing area of genomics. The course will discuss the techniques used for genome sequencing and genomic research, the uses of having genomes sequenced as well as touching upon some of the insights that have been drawn from the available genome data. |

| Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered) 75 ECTS credits in biology/chemistry Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding. |

| Organisation: The course will consist of lectures, some discussion of scientific litterature and a laborative excercise. |

| Course contents: Techniques for genome sequences, applications of genome data, evolutionary genetics from a genome perspective. |
