Aim:
The course aims to give the student an insight to the fast developing area of genomics. The course will discuss the techniques used for genome sequencing and genomic research, the uses of having genomes sequenced as well as touching upon some of the insights that have been drawn from the available genome data.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
75 ECTS credits in biology/chemistry

Organisation:
The course will consist of lectures, some discussion of scientific litterature and a laborative excercise.

Techniques for genome sequences, applications of genome data, evolutionary genetics from a genome perspective.
