Aim:
The aim of the course is to give student deep logsitical knowledge, based upon to state-of-the-art research and company applications. The course also provides knowledge about investigation methodology within logistics and increased understanding of how companies work when using modern logistics.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TETS 07/TETS13 Basic Logistic and at least one of the courses TETS 11 Integrated logistics or TETS 22 Logistic Analysis.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
A smaller number of lectures/seminars provide the basics within investigation and analysis. The students are divided into project groups of 2-5 students. These groups work with a major project in cooperation with companys and organisations. Each project is supervised by the course staff. The tutors give teaching in seminars by entering deeply into a field of research. During some seminars methodological issues are discussed and the different projects presented and discussed. In the base groups you also oppose on each others work in order to train a critical and constructive view on investigations and academic reports.

Course contents:
Logistical investigation methodology: Breakdown and specification of tasks, Analysis and conclusions in a stringent way, Systems analysis, Report writing. Focus on different parts within logistics depending on the direction of the different projects. The content is decided on different cases in point within the research discipline Supply Chain Management (SCM).

Course literature:
Björklund & Paulsson: "Seminarieboken", Studentlitteratur, 2003. Specific logistics literature connected to the specific projects.

Examination:
Project work including written report and oral presentation as well as opposition on other projects.
