Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TTIT 14 or TTIT 29 The Engineer in Society.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The theme is given in the form of lectures, seminars and tutorials.
Course contents:
In the theme, how we speak about and describe technology and science, in both popular scientific and scientific contexts, is problemized. We discuss how this affects our conceptions of gender/sex. Discussions and analyses are based on historical examples of the situation for women and men in academia and society. The introduction to the gender perspective on science and technology is combined with exercises in oral argumentation.
