Aim:
In a holistic way the course describes the process of obtaining knowledge from clinical data, choosing suitable classification algorithms, interpretation, knowledge representation, implementation and evaluation of decision support. It deals with different classification methods, their properties and applications in the clinical domain. Methods and models used in decision support design and development are overviewed and demonstrated. Methods of various approaches such as multivariate statistics and knowledge representation are compared with respect solving selected medical problems.

|
Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
TBME02 Anatomy and physiology or TBME50 Biomedical Engineering.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.
