Aim:
To give those elements of linear algebra which are needed, for example, in mechanics, optimisation theory and materials science.

Organisation:
Teaching is done in lectures and problem classes.

Course contents:
Vector algebra and vector geometry in three dimensions. Linear systems of equations. Theory of finite-dimensional real vector spaces and linear mappings between them, particularly symmetric and isometric mappings.
