| Aim: The course provides fundamental knowledge in basic organic chemistry: After studies well learned the student will have proficiency in:

| Organisation: Theoretical aspects are daily presented in lectures. Problem solving is studied during lessons. In the laboratory the students are trained in elementary organic chemical laboratory techniques. |

| Course contents: The course include nomenclature, structure and physical properties of most common substances representing different functional groups. Basic transformations and stereochemistry . In the laboratory, synthetic procedures are performed in relation to basic reactions and principles of purification. |
