Aim:
This course aim to give the student advanced knowledge of environmental aspects on products. Products are studied from a life cycle and sustainability perspective. After the course the student should:
- Identify and estimate a product�?Ts environmental performance through the whole lifecycle.
- Use basic ecodesign methodology.
- Suggest and valuate environmental improvements on products.
- Identify marketing possibilities for sustainable products.
- Have basic knowledge of the CDIO method for project management

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Environmental Science is beneficial. Minimum one year of technical studies.

Organisation:
The course is based on lectures and a bigger project.
|

Course contents:
System oriented view for analyzing environmental performance of products. Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment and use of Ecodesign tools. Environmental valuation of materials and processes. Waste treatment, reuse of products, parts of products and material reuse.
