Aim:
The course gives an understanding of how industrial services influences, and have an impact on, companies' offering and business developement. More specifically shall the students, after the course, be able to: - Explain and analyse the impact and role of services in industrial companies' offering and business development processes (both strategically and on an operative level). - Understand and explain how services and offerings are developed, among other things trough ICT (Internet and Communication Technologies). - Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages with services in an industrial context, especially in relation to industrial products. - Analyse and structure service and offering development related problems. - Be able to formulate, plan and conduct a project withn the area of service development.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Basic courses in management, marketing, and logistics.

Organisation:
Lectures, seminars and a project (carried out in groups).

Course contents:
Focus is on how services, through eg ICT, can enable business development of companies and what impact this have on profitability and results. New opportunities for value creation. The chaning relationships between companies as a result of increased service content. How can product-service offerings create new competitive advantage for companies.

Written reports and oral exam during the course
