Aim:
The course aim is to give a foundation in mathematics and a preparation for further university studies in mathematics. After completion of the course, the student should be able to - handle simple algebraic expression with real numbers.
- set up and solve equations, linjer system of equations and inequalities.
- use basic properties for real functions and studie the elementary functions.
- handle and use the principle for derivates.

Organisation:
The course is given in the form of lectures and tutorials. The students homework, initiative and activity is of great importance.

Course contents:
Algebra, equations, simplifying expressions and polynomials, geometry and trigonometry. Elementary functions, derivatives, graphs and extrem values.
