Aim:
The course gives:
- advanced knowledge in organic chemistry theory
- advanced knowledge in organic synthesis methods
- advanced knowledge of experimental methods in organic synthesis
- advanced knowledge in analytical and organic synthesis laboratory techniques.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Apporoved Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry 2 and attended Preparative Organic Chemistry or similar.
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The theory part includes lectures. Lessons include problem solving. The experimental part consist of projects in connection to the research in organic chemistry.
|

Course contents:
The course consists of modern synthesis methods, NMR-spectroscopy and physical organic chemistry. The experimental part includes laboratory techniques and projects in connection with the ongoing research in organic synthesis.
