Aim:
The aim of the course is to present basic knowledge about logistics activities, both internally in a single company and externally, between the companies in the supply chain. Special attention is paid to the importance of interaction between different functions and activities in the company/supply chain and the problems connected to this. After taking this course, the student should be able to describe and understand the important processes and flows of materials and information in the supply chain.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Basic knowledge in Manufacturing Planning and Control (TPMM20 or similar) and Corporate Organization (TEMM30 or similar).
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Lectures: 20 hrs; Seminars: 12 hrs; Company visit: 4 hrs
The lectures will give theoretical background which will be used in practical applications at the seminars. A case connected to the company visit will be performed in groups.
