| Aim: The aim of the course is to give a developed insight into conceptual design in media representation particularly within the areas of modern and conceptual art, mew media and computer graphics. The emphasis of the course is on the study and representation of the relationship between technology and art/popular culture. Particularly, the course gives insights into how technology and science interrelate to cultural practises and public popular representation, for example science fiction. It strives to develop a language for the participants both in writing and speech to discuss the fundamentals in representational practice and also to stimulate a discussion about concept, narrative and other core non-technical issues. |

| Organisation: The course will consist of workshops, lectures, seminars and group project work. The participants will make several oral presentations. Lecturers participating in this course will include international artists researchers and tutors. |

| Course contents: The course is a laboratory course developing the relation between theoretical and production perspectives with the emphasis on visual culture and technology, concept development and design in art and new media. At a practical level, students will learn skills in; a) Conceptual design, b) creating and presenting a media project synopsis. |
