AIM OF THE COURSE
After finished the course, students shall:

- be able to reflect upon and discuss different ways of conducting internationalization projects in pre-schools and schools
- be able to identify and describe local and international organizations working with global issues, for example peace movements and environmental movements in Sweden and in a developing country
CONTENTS
The course discusses the teacher as a project entrepreneur. Different examples of internationalization projects in pre-schools and schools are studied. Local and international organizations such as peace movements and environmental movements in Sweden and in a developing country are investigated.
TEACHING
Instruction is given in the form of lectures and seminars. Students are expected to prepare for lectures and seminars by reading recommended texts and take part in all group work. Students are also expected to take active part in discussions, lead seminars and be opponents on each other’s papers. Opportunities for a study trip to a developing country will be discussed and arranged at the students' own expense.
EXAMINATION
Examination is done through written individual or group (2 students) assignments and active, constructive participation in seminars.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

At least 60 credits approved on undergraduate level. Documented proficiency in English corresponding to English B/English 6. Exemption from Swedish B.
GRADING
CERTIFICATE
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
COURSE LITERATURE
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
OTHER INFORMATION
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
