AIM OF THE COURSE
On completion of the course, the student should:
- understand basic theories of knowledge and learning relevant to adult pedagogical applications
- demonstrate an understanding of how similarities and differences influence the conditions for educational meetings of people and groups
- be able to reflect on pedagogical considerations and demonstrate didactic skills
- be able to reflect on leadership as a condition for learning and development in a popular education organisation
CONTENTS
Learning, Knowledge and Interculturality, 15 HE credits
Lärande, kunskap och interkulturalitet
Perspectives on learning and knowledge. To search, problematise and further develop their approach to knowledge. Clarification of the educational processes in today's society in a historical and future-oriented perspective. Diversity, interculturality and identity. The search for identity in a local reality and in an increasingly globalised world based on, among other things, power perspectives.

Education and scientific knowledge. To describe, interpret and create new knowledge as an intentional educational process in the learning and research. To be the leader of an educational organisation.
TEACHING
The teaching takes the form of recurring multi-day seminars that consist of text- and experience-based dialogues and lectures.

Between the seminars, literature processing, sharing of experiences and practical exercises take place at meetings in small groups. Between seminars and group meetings, participants and course administration communicate through an Internet-based learning management system.
EXAMINATION
The course is examined through written and oral presentations of individual and group assignments and active participation in seminars and group meetings. In addition to scheduled time, students are expected to work with independent studies, individually and/or in groups.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

GRADING
A grade of Pass or Fail is given for the course
CERTIFICATE
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
COURSE LITERATURE
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
OTHER INFORMATION
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
