AIM OF THE COURSE
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:

- search, interpret and critically review materials relevant for the examination of the issue,

CONTENTS
An issue in the subject of ethics is examined independently, on the basis of the theory and method traditions of the discipline. The results are presented in writing and defended at a thesis seminar. The course also includes discussing other students' thesis plans and completed theses.
TEACHING
The independent thesis work is supported by supervision, introductory seminars, mid-way reviews and final thesis seminars. All students are expected to prepare for and participate in the seminars, in an active and constructive way. The students should also study independently.
EXAMINATION
The course is examined through compulsory seminars, where thesis plans are analysed and discussed, the student's own thesis is defended and, normally, a review of another thesis is carried out.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
