AIM OF THE COURSE
On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- - account for certain perspectives and issues in some central problem complexes regarding interpretation, transmission and lifestyles in the tradition of the Christian faith.
- demonstrate familiarity with the faith genre and further advanced ability to interpret and critically review the productions in the genre
- demonstrate in-depth knowledge of one or a couple of central issues of systematic theology and/or ideology research.
CONTENTS
The course consists of two parts. The first module, comprising 7.5 HE credits, covers central problem complexes, interpretive approaches, forms of transmission and ways of living in the traditions of the Christian faith.

In the second module, comprising 7.5 HE credits, the student specialises in one or a couple of central issues of systematic theology or life philosophy research.
TEACHING
The student's effort mainly consists of independent studies of text material. The teaching in the first module takes the form of lectures and seminars as well as supervision of a written independent assignment. The second module is given as a literature course with a supervised independent written assignment and a following final review.
EXAMINATION
The assessment of the student's achievements is based both on individual written assignments or oral examination, and on one or several assignments that are presented in seminars. Active individual participation in the seminars is compulsory.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Completed Religious Studies - Studies in Faith and Ideologies, continuation course, 15 HE credits, with the module Systematic Theology approved, or the equivalent.
GRADING
A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course
CERTIFICATE
Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division.
COURSE LITERATURE
The course literature is decided upon by the department in question.
OTHER INFORMATION
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
